The founding fathers of the United States had the wisdom to limit the President to serving no more than 2 terms. They knew this would prevent the consolidation of power and the stagnation of our democracy. Unfortunately, the same precedent was not set for the Houses of Congress. With no limits and no shortage of incentive, our senators and representatives are spending their time perpetually campaigning. They are too focused on furthering their own careers and not focused enough on doing the people's work.
Please give us hope in our democracy again. Please impose term limits on senators and representatives. Don't make it a revolving door - let them serve long enough to get something done. But there must be a limit to prevent powerful career politicians from holding back the system.
