Create tighter restrictions on purchase and use of firearms within the United States of America.

Created by O.R. on May 23, 2014

Roughly .00005% of Americans each year are murdered. This may seem like a small amount to most people, however, this percentage tells us that roughly 45 people are murdered each day. In all, roughly 16000 people are murdered each year. In Iceland, one of the countries with the smallest murder rate, only .0000003% of people were murdered each year. If the US had a murder rate similar to Iceland, thousands of lives would not be wasted due to others' actions. According to the FBI 49% of murders were committed with a handgun alone. Added to the additional murders done with assault rifle or other firearm, murders involving firearms are many more times as common as any other murder type. Time matters, and if every day nothing is done, people will die.
