Laws all across America regarding pet theft are not specific enough and are too lenient. Tougher laws with harsher punishments need to be created in order to deter pet theft. Pets are stolen for a variety of reasons: everything from breeding to fighting and cage matches. It leaves families all across America in tears when they lose their pets and it hurts the animals. Laws need to me made to show criminals that it a serious offense to steal pets. Harsher punishments need to be given in order to deter future pet theft.
