I am requesting the setting up of two Committees similar to the Truman Committee of 1942.
1. The First Committee would investigate waste in the Federal Government. Such things investigated would be earmarks(should they return), pork spending, etc. It would be bipartisan, but headed by a Democrat. It would have 'teeth' to issue penalties, bring to Court, and work with the FBI to arrest suspected wasters.
2. The Second Committee would investigate waste in the Military. Such things investigated would be contracts, pork spending etc. It would be bipartisan, but headed by a Republican. It would have teeth to issue penalties, bring to Court and work with the military police to arrest suspected wasters.
