CREATE TWO NEW STATES, NORTH AND SOUTH, FROM CALIFORNIA

Since the people of Southern California and Northern California have grown so far apart, culturally and politically, and since the state constitution of California is the largest legal document in the world and as such is incomprehensible, we petition the Federal Government to investigate the process of separating the north from the south, and declaring each a new state, with new acceptable constitutions. A preliminary suggestion is that Northern California's southern border be marked by the northern boundary of Los Angeles County, that Southern California's northern border be Los Angeles' southern boundary, and that Los Angeles County be ceded to the Republic of Mexico. Believe me, no one will notice.
