Create Universal Guidelines for the Location of Vehicle Fuel Filler Doors.

We American Citizens adding our support to this petition request the Obama Administration create guidelines for automobile manufacturers mandating that all vehicles sold in the United States have fuel filler doors located in a universal position. The current system of manufacturers placing the fuel filler door on either side of the vehicle creates unnecessary confusion at the gas station, resulting in at minimum a waste of car refueling productivity and at worst safety issues resulting from confused drivers pulling up to the wrong side of the pump then in frustration having to execute often complex maneuvers to properly position the vehicle possibly resulting in collision with persons or property.
