Use presidential executive orders to create a fire arm registration system by stitching together existing state and federal laws. This system would be the first step toward registration of all guns. It would be accessible to all state and federal law enforcement agencies. A registered gun is a legal fire arm whose owner is in compliance with the laws of the land and is protected under the constitution of the United States. An unregistered gun is not legal and those in possession of illegal fire arms are themselves in violation of the laws of the land as well as having no protection under the constitution. Legal guns and their owners are protected by the constitution and are expected to participate in the duties of the well regulated militia.
