Nominate the U.S. portion of the Great Lakes and connecting channels a NATIONAL MONUMENT.
This will give added protection to One Fifth of the planet's fresh water and give the eight states that border on the Great Lakes added enforcement powers to protect the Lakes from pollution, invasive species and illegal water diversions.
The Great Lakes Initiative Act is helping, but it can't stop Endbridge pumping 23 million gallons of light crude oil into the Straights of Mackinac with 62 year old twin 20 inch pipe lines. FEDERAL ACTION is needed NOW!!!!!
