We need to create a bill called Veronica's Law. It should ensure that children placed for adoption receive the consent of both natural parents for placement and/or the child should have a right to a best interests hearing and/or and a right to remain with a fit and loving natural parent or grandparent in any contested adoption.
"Baby Veronica" was forced to leave a fit and loving natural father and grandparents due to an unethical adoption process. Children's human rights to life, liberty, pursuit of happiness and heritage within their birth family are seldom being considered as unethical, highly profitable private adoptions run rampant. Private adoption should not be a for-profit industry desecrating the rights of fit biological parents, and federal regulation is desperately needed.
