It is time for a victim rights amendment to be added to the constitution. This amendment would spell out the specific rights crime victims have in court and beyond. It should include at least the following: 1. Victims have the right to be present at all trials, parole hearings etc that have a bearing on the case and to speak at such occasions. 2. Victims have the right to speak at a sentencing hearing if they so choose. 3. Victims have the right to legal representation.
This Amendment is simply common sense.
