Let's protect American workers against the corporate giants that have used the global economic crisis that they alone have caused as an excuse to eviscerate the rights that unions and common workers have fought years to attain. Wages for workers in America have remained stagnant or declined for decades. Americans work longer hours and have less vacation time than any other industrialized nation. I propose the following:
1. Work week should be reduced to 30 hours a week, anything over shall be time and a half.
2. 4 weeks mandatory paid vacation.
3. 6 mandatory months paid maternity leave, can be split between spouses.
4. Minumum wage to be tied to poverty rate plus 15%.
5. National prevailing wage law for all skilled workers.
6. All rights shall be prorated for part time workers.
