A task that would increase jobs, further an interest in science among the youth, and to let an idea, long thought of as a science fiction genre, come to life. Just this year, Pacific Rim was released, drawing inspiration from many classic series. It has long been a dream of many to see a working mecha with their own eyes.
While it won't be on the level of a colossal super robot, it would be on the level of a real robot, just big enough for a human to pilot it, so it won't collapse under its weight. It won't be weaponized and would only be a show of the USA's technical abilities.
