Children are in danger of sexual abuse and they need to know. Being abused at a young age is very unsafe mentally and physically and the government needs to make a change. 44% of rape victims are under the age of 18. In order to try and prevent child sexual abuse the government needs to add provisions to the Wisconsin state statute to have age appropriate classes starting at a young age, informing kids on sexual abuse and reporting. 95 percent of sexual abuse is preventable through education and awareness. If all it takes to get children to report abuse is to educate them, then the government could be able to stop 95 percent of abuses before they became very dangerous. Thousands of children are victims of sexual abuse each year and many children don’t know that they are in serious danger.
