Our current system is only a housing unit. Inmates learn more criminal activity while incarcerated. They have never been taught how to respect others. People can't do what they don't know. We need a system that teaches manners and etiquette. They should have a similar structure and dress code, as our military.
Daily schedule example: Rise 5 am, work, school, yoga, dance, meditation, bed 8 pm. They need to hear motivational speakers. They need basic life skills, how to manage their finances.
The non violent criminals can work outside the prisons, and violent inside. What we are doing isn't working. We know this. You can often hear prisoners say, "they will be back, they don't know how to live on the outside." Let's teach them.
