As climate change, our nation's forestry resources, and a sustainable approach to design are critical issues facing our country today, we petition the honorable President Barack Obama to create a new cabinet level position - The Department of Green Infrastructure. This department would seek to identify, preserve, and enhance our dwindling green resources. In addition it would serve to unify existing efforts spread throughout the federal governement, thereby streamlining fiscal and physical assets to the benefit of the nation. The National Park Service, US Forestry Service, various arms of the EPA, etc. would come under the direction of this new department.
