Creation of a new federal holiday of American Unity

With all the hatred and violence right now, a national voice is needed. I propose a new national holiday of American Unity. A day set aside where all Americans, regardless of race, gender, religion, political party etc., join together in one voice to proclaim that we are one country, one people and that we disclaim all acts of hatred and violence. Events of public goodwill should be encouraged. Parades, neighborhood gatherings to know your neighbors, any events designed to encourage interaction, goodwill, etc. If work is not cancelled, companies should be encouraged to participate by having company picnics, gatherings, family events, etc. Encouragement could be provided in the form of a tax incentive for companies that participate. Lots of ways to do this and no idea is wrong.
