We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Creation of a Uniform Code of Law Enforcement Justice

Created by J.T. on October 07, 2016

The killing of unarmed suspects is a blight on this nation. These acts destroy The People’s trust, undermine police authority, and create an adversarial relationship between the police and those they ostensibly serve. Unlike other citizens, members of law enforcement have sworn solemn oaths to uphold the laws and Constitution of this Nation and should adhere to a higher standard. Therefore, we propose the creation of a Uniform Code of Law Enforcement Justice which will provide charges for criminal acts committed by Law Enforcement Officers “under color of authority” to reflect the greater damage caused to society by such acts. To be effective, these statutes must be enacted by the Federal Government of the United States of America and prosecuted by The United States Attorney General.
