Credit unions are organized as Cooperatives, and they operate according to the 7 Principles of Cooperatives

Created by M.L. on March 12, 2013

Credit unions are organized as Cooperatives, and they
operate according to the 7 Principles of Cooperatives:

- Voluntary and Open Membership
- Democratic Member Control
- Members' Economic Participation
- Autonomy and Independence
- Education, Training and Information
- Cooperation among Cooperatives
- Concern for Community

The board member(s) appointed by the White House to oversee
the NCUA should understand and desire to implement these
core principles into all regulations for NCUA-insured
credit unions. We are asking you to join us in petitioning
the White House to appoint a leader who understands and
will uphold these principles when governing credit unions.
