It is an honor to serve the people of the United States of America in the House of Representatives or in the Senate. The acceptance of monies/bribes by such elected representatives from a lobbyist is a treasonous act as it betrays the trust put into a public servant to serve his constituents without bias or self interest. Such activity should be punishable to the fullest extent of the law, including the loss of one's seat in Congress.
