Criminalize pit bull ownership.

It's universally acknowledged that pit bulls are the single most dangerous breed of dog, except amongst those in the US Congress. Countless children are mauled each year by this dangerous breed of dog and, whether the owner or the breed is to blame, children will still continued to be mauled. A video recently emerged on the Internet of Gabriel Gifford's husband's pit bull mauling and killing a seal. If an astronaut and esteemed public figure cannot control his pit bull, what makes one believe that most US citizens can do so? There are thousands of animals that are either banned or require rigorous background checks to own, but no such background checks are implemented on the most fatal domestic animal in the nation. Not to mention, the dogs themselves are being abused and overbred.
