Have you ever, or do you know of anybody that has looked for tickets to their favorite show, team or event to find that they have "sold out" in less than 10 minutes?
These, often, high capacity venues that hold between 20,000 and 40,000 fans are no longer accessible to real fans due to the fact that Professional Scalpers are known to use 'bots' to buy up as many tickets as possible in a matter of minutes. These 'bots' are capable of reprocessing requests hundreds or thousands of times per minute.
After a "sold out" message appears on the selling website, you can go to a resller such as Stub Hub and find tickets availble to the "sold out" concert for 3 to 5 times their value.
This is plain exploitation and should be stopped. Please sign the petition if you have experience of this.
