Criminalize the use of humiliation as a punishment in public schools. It is mentally damaging to our children!

Created by D.H. on January 15, 2013

Introduce legislation that makes it a criminal offense to use humiliation as a punishment in our public schools. No wonder our children internalize so much hate. Reference the instance where principal Tim Richards at Westwood High School in Mesa, AZ required two young male students to hold hands for an hour while being taunted with homophobic slurs by their fellow students. Appallingly, incidents like these are common in our schools.

How can we prevent bullying in our schools when it is being taught by respected school officials? How many children have to commit suicide before we take action?

Please sign the petition to bring this problem national attention and help bring mutual respect back into our education system!
