Women who are using illicit drugs while pregnant are causing harm to the unborn child. These women are not being punished! The helpless child suffers from it's mothers own decisions. The cost of caring for a drug dependent newborn it $67,000 compared to the $4,000 it costs to care for a healthy newborn. These women need to seek treatment or be punished for endangering the child's life and costing our government! The rising numbers of drug addicted newborns has to be stopped!!
