Although many crimes were committed by wall street and banks during the last decade few if any criminal charges have been filed. Most cases have been settled, often for fines far less than the profit gained illegally, and often without an admission of guilt. This is not the justice that the people want!
Fines do not punish the perpetrators, who get to keep the bonuses they made committing these crimes. Further, the fines are too small to be a deterrent for these large companies.
Where crimes have been committed we demand that the person or persons responsible be charged and tried criminally. This may include superiors who were aware of, or encouraged, these illegal actions.
It is the fear of real prosecution that will deter future white collar crime.
