We could use crowdsourcing to engage the American public in solving the problems created by a dysfunctional legislative branch. In the last several years, our legisators have been shown to be incapable of solving major problems, such as climate change, that will have devastating consequences to citizens of the US. The list of such problems is long and getting longer.
I propose the use of a lottery to motivate people’s involvement in solving the problems our government has failed to solve. It would include two steps. The first would be to generate a group of solutions to a given problem. Next, people would simultaneously vote for the solution and be entered in the lottery. The winning number would be chosen from the solution with the most lottery votes.
