The easy availability of guns has led to far too many deaths in our nation in recent years, and created a culture of fear in the general population. More guns have not solved the problem.
This petition requests that the President introduce legislation to restrict the number and types of guns that can be purchased by any individual. This includes significantly curbing access to high caliber and semi-automatic weapons.
The Second Amendment calls for a well regulated militia, and we are in need of that. Regulations that allow individuals weapons, but does not result in a nation that reminds us of the Wild West or, worse, a war zone.
