Minors should have a curfew determined by their parents or guardian not by the government. The current curfew law prevents the parent's or guardian's right of parenting their own child. The government should not force a specific time frame for when a minor can be in a public area. The current punishments for a minor not obeying the curfew law are far too extreme. Some consequences include; fines, restriction of license, community service, required involvement in school activities after school hours, and possible time in a juvenile detention facility. The parenting of a minor should stay out of the government's worries. I am creating this petition to abolish the current curfew law to protect the parent's, guardian's, and minor's rights.
