The current Tomb Monument at Arlington National Cemetery is cracked beyond repair and needs to be replaced (exchanged).

Created by T.R. on November 08, 2012

The replacement (exchange) block of marble has been quarried from the same place as the current one, The Colorado Yule Marble Quarry in Marble, Colorado, USA.
The director of Arlington National Cemetery and the VA had asked for the Tomb Monument to be replaced years ago and directed the operator of the Colorado Yule Marble Quarry to find an exchange block. Since the finding of the replacement block two Senators tagged legislation onto a bill that was signed into law preventing the repair or exchange of the block until further ‘studies’ could be undertaken. The cost of the block has been paid as well as the transportation of the block. The Government will have to pay for carving the marble block and installation. Petition to fix legislation & proceed with the VA Tomb Replacement Project
