Our great nation has amassed a huge unsustainable national debt through, inter alia, unrealistic government spending and fiscal mismanagement over the past few decades. This crushing debt will be a huge burden on our children and grandchildren for many generations. This debt is, in fact, a matter of national security because it presents a clear and present danger to the survival of our nation and freedoms as we know it.
Therefore, I call upon President Obama to work with Congress to implement sweeping budgetary reforms that will reduce overall federal spending by 5% in 2014 and 10% in 2015. If the President and Congress cannot agree otherwise, such budget cuts should be taken across the board on ALL federal programs and agencies, including the military, without exception or favor.
