In 2010 alone, the United States government gave away over 50 billion dollars of aid to foreign nations. Why are we giving money away when our country is in such an economic recession and we are 17 trillion dollars in debt?
First and foremost, I believe the tax dollars that Americans pay to the federal government should go towards the needs of the citizens of this country. Education, health care, job creation, the nation's debt and so forth. Our government has an obligation to take care of its own house before it attempts to take care of others.
