Cut Congress Salaries and Benefits

Created by B.N. on December 22, 2012

Congressional salaries should be reduced to a maximum of 2 times that of an average American family or $100,000 whichever is less. All pay should, to some degree, be based on incentives related to improvements in the lives and wellbeing of American citizens as measured by reductions in poverty, unemployment, homelessness, and improvements in health.

At present, Rank and file members of congress receive 174,000 dollars annually and automatic cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) increase takes effect annually unless Congress votes to not accept it.
