Rather than cut pay for people who are diligently trying to protect the country or contribute to that cause, why don't we dock Congress and their office staff pay and eliminate all but 2 round trip travel expenses for them as well.
It will at once become relevant to all concerned parties to resolve the issues. Or are the salaries and travel expenses of the Congress and their staffs so sacrosanct, that they should not have to bear any repercussions of their activity or inactivity?
It is a non-biased, politically balanced approach to encourage Congress to behave like adults and actively seek resolution as opposed to political brinkmanship.
