Congress has so far been dysfunctional at doing their job: getting our economy back on track and balancing our debt and budget. The average congressman/woman makes $174,000 per year, far more then the average American. Majority and minority leaders make even more (about $193,400 a year). Starting in 2013 they will be making even more. This petition is aimed at reducing congress's salary and using that as a form of revenue towards reducing the debt ceiling in our country.
