Cut defense spending to help balance the federal budget.

Created by S.F. on April 03, 2012

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, the United States military expenditure is approximately 690 billion dolars. This is the world's highest. More than six times that of the People's Republic China (second in the world at 115 billion), and 98 times that of Iran (25th in the world at 7 billion).

In the current economic state, as well as the current federal deficit, continuing to spend at this rate is completely and utterly absurd. We could cut the entirety of the military spending in half, and we would still be spending more on the military than the entirety of Russia's budget.

In short, we call on you to cut the United States federal defense spending in order to help ease the deficit, as well as keep the social, educational, and research spending intact
