Cut down on Deforestation to save the environment!

Created by H.A. on March 05, 2013

Deforestation is causing a lot of problems that affect everything from earth's temperature to the extinction of rare species. Deforestation causes a lush green forest to change to a dark grey city which causes the albedo of the area to change and make it absorb more heat, causing earth's overall albedo to increase which will add to global warming. When trees are cut down they release carbon dioxide. Every year all the trees cut down release more carbon dioxide than transportation worldwide. Just like trees, animals release carbon dioxide when they die and cutting down forest, where they live, kills them and causes them to release carbon dioxide along with the trees. Rare animal species are losing their homes and are going extinct. Over 70% of animal and plant species live in forests.
