Cut the Food Line Item Budget for Congress and Senate for all meetings, estimated savings: $2 million yr. Sequestration!

Created by M.M. on June 25, 2013

Sunlight Foundation researched that the spending for food and coffee for the Senate and Congress is about $2,000,000 a year. This overspending is taking place while the programs for the homeless, the poor, children, the elderly, veterans, and the sick, are being cut because of Sequestration (something created by the lack of urgency of representatives regarding the welfare of their constituencies). This spending is for donuts, coffee, fruit, and bagels. The country's most fragile citizens are suffering while Congress and Senate flagrantly spend $2 million of your hard earned tax dollars in snacks.
