The idea that we should cut spending on our national defense, air traffic, teachers, kids, border patrol, and etc. due to sequestration is absurd when we continue to promise new funds to countries like Syria.
It is a good idea to help other countries and people when we can afford to do so. However it is irresponsible to make new commitments and continue current commitments and not consider reducing the expense of foreign aid.
In fact spending on foreign aid ought to be the first thing we reduce or eliminate.
