Cut the income of congress, from the President on down, to the average household income to help with national debt

Our current leaders in the government are paid well beyond what they deserve for the job they do. In order for them to actually relate to their constituents and understand the ramifications of their decisions. I think our "leaders" have lost touch with what their job actually is. To be the voice of the people. They are too wrapped up in their own agendas. Maybe they will change their minds about how to handle the economy when their multiple houses are foreclosed on when they don't make enough money to pay the mortgage.
