Cut massive Military budget, leave domestic spending alone, and find funding to repair & upgrade infrastructure

Created by R.T. on January 14, 2013

Military spending by the US outstrips that of the next twenty nations in a time when the greatest threats to our security can be dealt with by the intelligence community or in tandem with our NATO allies.

It is utterly absurd to consider cuts to already strained domestic programs while maintaining the military's 'sacred cow' status, especially when the greatest threat to the average US citizen is unemployment/underemployment.

A change of focus is needed from one of overseas adventurism to instead rebuilding our once admirable, but now crumbling infrastructure. Such an effort would supply much needed jobs in the short term, and would encourage high-tech manufacturers to grow their operations domestically.
