The U.S. government spends more than the next top 10 countries in the world on defense...COMBINED. Lowering this amount by 10% could free up hundreds of millions of dollars that could be used for other ventures such as education of infrastructure.
This lowering of military spending would also go hand in hand with the U.S. government lessening their involvement in other countries issues. The more money and attention that stays domestic the better.
