Cut military spending by 10% to help balance the budget, by closing bases overseas and canceling some weapons contracts

Military spending is far too much of a "sacred cow" in our society. The costs keep going up and up and we are in thrall to a military industrial complex which leaves us little for important infrastructure, education and the like, which are productive investments. We spend far too much on weapons that are unneeded and we cannot be the worlds policeman forever with bases all over. We DO need to support our veterans and their benefits should be preserved and increased
