cut pay to members of congress in the event of any government shutdowns or budget freezes.

Created by J.Z. on September 30, 2013

Members of congress should be impacted by government shutdowns. Currently, members of the Senate and House will continue to receive payment even when they fail to come to a compromise on debt limits and other budgetary policy. All members, no matter their political preferences, should be held accountable for their inability to work towards a solution. Cutting their pay is one step towards addressing the fact that Congressional members are immune to their own inability to write and pass adequate legislation.
