After recent debates over the budget, Congress decided to end education funding for active duty military. This is a tragedy for those people who entered the military in the hopes of creating a better life for themselves. With these cuts, Congress sent a clear message to the American people; they do not care how their avarice and greed impact everyday Americans. Our active duty military already collect insignificant wages for performing their dangerous and emotionally stressful duties. Congress, meanwhile, stalls the march of progress with petty squabbling over budgetary concerns. Yet the money required is right under their noses, in the form of the Congressional payroll. Considering that most Senators collect over 100k a year, it is not unreasonable to ask them to take a 30% pay cut.
