The President and Congress have failed the country miserably. The forefathers intended that the President and the Congress serve at the pleasure of the People, for the People as a whole, not a few. And yet it seems completely apparent that both being a President and serving in Congress is no longer about serving the people but serving themselves. Its just another way to get rich quick! It is time the people reclaimed the power and control of those we elect!
I propose that "We the People," demand of the President to issue an executive order that requires his salary to be reduced to $150,000 per year and Congress's pay to $80,000 or less. If they are re-elected they get a $2,000 raise. It should also be illegal for a member of Congress to accept in one year more than $10,000 in donations.
