Cut salaries of congressional members, do away with retirement benefits and require they carry their own healthcare..

Created by B.S. on December 31, 2012

Currently members of Congress receive a salary of $174,000 with a pay increase coming in March of 2013. According to the Congressional Research Service, 413 retired Members of Congress were receiving federal pensions as of Oct. 1, 2006. Of this number, 290 were receiving an average annual pension of $60,972 & 123 Members had average annual pensions of $35,952 in 2006.

We are funding career politicians at enormous salaries & benefits. At the same time Congress has not done their jobs & are hurting Americans.

We demand that salaries of Congress be reduced to no more than $60,000 a year. In addition they should be required to participate in Social Security & carry their own 401k's & purchase their own health care coverage.

We need to stop subsidizing these enormous salaries and benefits.
