Cut the salary and benefits of all members of congress to the minimum standard of their state/district.

There is currently a very clear disconnect between congress and the people that they are elected to serve. I believe that they cannot properly preform their jobs if they are held above the current pains and struggles of the people. If a congress person cannot sustain themselves on minimum wage, how can they expect us to? I believe it is in the best interest of we, the people, to have representatives who have lived as we have and understand our way of life. It's time that our congress had their ludicrous salaries and benefits cut to represent the minimums of their states and districts.
