Cut the salary of the President, Senators, and Representatives and only allow them to be increased via the people.

As of 2001, the Presidential salary is $400,000 for life as well as $174,000 for life for members of Congress. These members should bear the same burden that has been placed upon the people for the choices made by these members. It should also be up to the people to decide what an appropriate salary for these members are. Along these lines, it should be Illegal for these members to vote to increase their own salaries. In a time of cuts and sacrifice, these members should not exclude themselves and place themselves above the people.
