Cut ties with the majority of countries in an effort to isolate the US.

By cutting the majority of trade and commerce ties with the rest of the world the US would be forced to manufacture our own goods. The increase of manufacturing in the US would create thousands of jobs and would work to fix the economy. During the war of 1812 an embargo was placed on our two largest trade partners of the time. The loss of our trading partners allowed for hundreds of new businesses and factories to grow and thrive.
