By the Energy Policy Act of 2005, (DST) was extended from the second Sunday of March until the first Sunday of November.
While this is a step in the right direction, I propose that DST should be extended to 365 days per year.
A year-around extension would result in greater consistency in both work and family life. This would also likely result in a more productive economy and more fulfilling family relationships through increased time for family-related activities. An increase in family-related activities, including travel, could help boost the economy as people spend more money as they enjoy more time with family and friends.
Therefore, I propose extending DST to 365 days per year and eliminating the four-month fall back period from Mid-November through Mid-March.
