When we look at the US Army helmets of WW2, Korea & Vietnam, the helmets then covered much more neck area of the soldier, then the helmets in current use.
In the asymmetrical warfare situation & IED use by the enemy, we are encountering more shrapnel coming from the side & back, with catastrophic results.
Our soldiers are paying dearly for this poorly designed modern helmet.
If you care to listen, I have several ideas how the helmets could be modified, or redisigned.
